· Construction of The Residences Vale do Lobo began in June 2025
· Limited collection of 44 homes is first of 4 new property development phases over 6 years
· Elegant new properties continue the evolution of Vale do Lobo, as resort invites a new generation to create cherished memories
The construction of a limited collection of 44 new homes has begun at the Algarve’s legendary Vale do Lobo, as owner and operator Kronos Homes reveals that 40% of the elegant properties have already been reserved.
The apartments, linked villas and townhouses – collectively known as The Residences Vale do Lobo – are the first new homes to be built by the resort in 20 years.
Occupying a prime position in the verdant Vale Real (“Royal Valley”) area, the Vale do Lobo branded residences mark the first phase of a new era for real estate at the iconic coastal resort. They build on its 60+ year heritage of delighting holidaymakers, golfers, property owners and investors, presenting a reimagined real estate offering to the next generation.
Alda Filipe, Partner at Kronos Homes and Vale do Lobo Board member, comments:
“We are delighted to see the first new resort-developed homes in two decades commencing construction at Vale do Lobo. The Residences will invite discerning homebuyers and investors to be part of the resort’s bright future, ensuring that a new generation can contribute to the long history of cherished memories in this stunning part of the Algarve.
“At our private, exclusive event to celebrate the launch and the start of construction of The Residences, we were proud to announce that an incredible 40% has already been reserved off-plan. More than a sales milestone, this stands as a powerful testament to the strength of our vision and, most importantly, to the trust, belief, and ongoing support of our wonderful community.”
The Residences Vale do Lobo comprises 25 beautifully designed apartments, 10 elegant linked villas and 9 sophisticated townhouses. All homes will blend the luxury and prestige for which Vale do Lobo is known with the latest in sustainable construction, with each property designed in line with the coveted BREEAM standard.
Spacious interiors will flow into welcoming outdoor areas for enjoying the Algarve’s exceptional climate. The development will feature two communal swimming pools, along with landscaped communal gardens, all surrounded by the rich natural landscape of Vale Real. The linked villas will include two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, set beside one of the generously sized communal pools. The townhouses, meanwhile, will each come with a private pool.
Nestled within the Vale do Lobo resort, the homes will provide easy access to a wealth of facilities. Two championship 18-hole golf courses, a luxurious spa, tennis and padel courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a new gym, luxury boutiques and more than a dozen eateries are dotted across the resort.
Many of Vale do Lobo’s facilities have been enhanced and brought in-house over the past two years, with a strategic programme of enhancements in line with its shareholders’ clear and ambitious vision. Vale do Lobo was taken under the ownership and operation of Kronos Homes in 2023, as part of the acquisition of a significant collection of real estate and tourism assets by a consortium led by Davidson Kempner.
Since then, considerable investment has resulted in enhancements and new facilities across Vale do Lobo. The resort now has an enhanced Tennis Academy with 13 tennis courts and six padel courts, a new fitness centre, decked area, heated swimming pool and pro shop. Several enhancements have been made to its two golf courses, ensuring players enjoy exceptional experiences year-round. A new golf boutique means they can also access the latest clothing, shoes, accessories and state-of-the-art equipment.
A long-time leader in the Algarve’s gourmet dining market, Vale do Lobo has consolidated its standing with six in-house impressive new restaurant openings in the past two years. Last year, new restaurants Tinto and Doce celebrated Portuguese cuisine, delivering immersive dining experiences blending contemporary elegance and creativity with traditional dishes. The new Smash restaurant, also opened in 2024, brought a family-focused ‘healthy-licious’ dining concept to the resort, while the Smash Sports Bar, opened this year, took that concept to the next level. New launches Barlume Vale do Lobo and El Ta’koy have now taken dining at the resort one step further. Barlume brings beachside New York sophistication with outstanding Mediterranean flavours, while El Ta’koy takes the senses on an elevated journey through Pacific flavours.
On the real estate front, Kronos Homes plans to deliver four phases of development in Vale Real over the coming six years, offering a total of 227 new homes. This €200 million real estate investment is the next stage in Kronos Homes’ delivery of the vision for the future of this leading resort. Vale do Lobo has already seen extraordinary appetite for its real estate offering in the past two years, with buyers hailing from Portugal, the UK, the US and elsewhere around the globe.
Available to purchase off-plan, The Residences Vale do Lobo offer payment terms that are “unparalleled in the current market” according to Alda Filipe. Buyers can reserve a property with 20% of the purchase price, with the final 80% not due until completion, which is expected from Q4 2027.
