Subway has unveiled plans to introduce a novel range of lavash-style wraps across its US outlets starting from 11 April 2024.

This innovation represents the brand’s inaugural new bread variety in a span of three years.

The lavash-style flatbread, drawing inspiration from Middle Eastern culinary traditions, boasts a soft, bubbly texture that accommodates more fillings than a conventional wheat tortilla, capable of enveloping a footlong serving of protein within a six-inch wrap.

The forthcoming menu presents four lavash selections: Homestyle Chicken Salad, Honey Mustard Chicken, Turkey, Bacon & Avocado, and Cali Caprese.

The Homestyle Chicken Salad wrap comprises a chicken salad crafted from rotisserie-style chicken and mayonnaise, garnished with lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion.

The Honey Mustard Chicken wrap melds rotisserie-style chicken with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Monterey cheddar cheese, and a delectable honey mustard sauce.

Packed with protein, the Turkey, Bacon & Avocado wrap combines oven-roasted turkey and crisp bacon with smashed avocado, adorned with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Monterey cheddar cheese, and peppercorn ranch sauce.

The Cali Caprese wrap provides a vegetarian choice, featuring fresh mozzarella and avocado, complemented by lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, roasted garlic aioli, and parmesan vinaigrette.

Paul Fabre, Subway’s senior vice-president of culinary and innovation, stated, “Wraps have become an afterthought on restaurant menus with uninspiring choices and snack-size portions that leave you wanting more. That insight kickstarted the process of revamping Subway’s wraps. We spent over a year creating signature recipes with unique ingredients that bring out the best in our new lavash-style flatbread, and also fuel you up without weighing you down.”

Patrons are afforded the option to select the new lavash-style flatbread for any sandwich, allowing for personalised meal experiences.

This latest introduction is a component of Subway’s ongoing transformation endeavour initiated in 2021, aimed at enhancing the dining experience through novel and refined selections.

Earlier this year, in January, Subway introduced Sidekicks, a fresh line-up of three foot-long snack items.
