Castle MacLellan, one of the UK’s leading producers of pâtés and parfaits, has secured nationwide distribution for its new artisan parfait range in Sainsbury’s stores.

Rolling out throughout October, the new collection will be available both in-store and online and includes:

  • Castle MacLellan Chicken Liver Parfait (100g, RRSP £3.50) – A smooth, silky parfait with a rich depth of flavour, created using Scottish cream and a hint of Dumfriesshire heather honey.
  • Castle MacLellan Duck Liver Parfait (100g, RRSP £3.50) – A refined, classic recipe made with seasoned duck, complemented by Galloway marmalade and a touch of port for balance and complexity.

This launch forms part of Castle MacLellan’s broader growth strategy, with additional new products planned for release later in the year and into 2026.

The initiative aims to expand consumer choice while reinforcing the brand’s reputation as a leading artisan producer within the chilled aisle. This growth is supported by substantial investment from the brand’s parent company.

To accompany the rollout, the brand will launch a new marketing campaign, titled ‘Bring taste to your table’, which is set to begin in November.

Gareth Watson, Castle MacLellan Marketing Manager, says:

“People are cutting back on dining out but trading up at home, with ‘dinner for tonight’ now one of the fastest-growing sectors and a category growth driver for pâtés.

“Castle MacLellan’s new artisan parfaits bring food lovers the trusted quality and provenance they’re looking for, helping retailers grow the premium tier and drive repeat purchase.

“Launching into 193 Sainsbury’s stores, this range strengthens the fixture with recipes built on quality, provenance and flavour.”

“The pâté fixture itself is changing. While standard and value ranges have seen challenges, the premium tier is seeing double-digit growth*, fuelled by shoppers trading up for trusted brands and more distinctive recipes. Our focus on chef-developed recipes and British sourcing means we are well placed to capture this momentum.”
