A much-loved Scottish bakery brand expands its presence in Glasgow with its seventh location in the city.

Bayne’s The Family Bakers has opened its latest shop in Anniesland today, creating 18 new roles and further strengthening the bakery’s presence in Glasgow’s West End.

This new opening marks Bayne’s seventh shop in Glasgow, continuing the company’s steady growth since first entering the city in 2018. To mark the occasion, customers who download the Bayne’s app in-store on opening day will receive a complimentary yum yum as a gesture of appreciation for their support.

The launch of the Anniesland store highlights the continued demand for Bayne’s freshly baked goods and represents another key step in the business’s strategic expansion into high-traffic locations and retail hubs. It follows notable developments such as the introduction of Bayne’s first drive-thru in Hillington in 2021 and the rollout of the new Bayne’s mobile app earlier this year, designed to enhance customer convenience with improved access to loyalty rewards, exclusive offers and a smoother digital experience.

Bayne’s Joint Managing Director, John Bayne, said: “Glasgow has become a hugely important part of our story. The city has welcomed Bayne’s with incredible warmth, and we’re delighted to be bringing our fresh baking to Anniesland. Creating new local jobs and continuing to invest here remains a key priority for us.”

The Anniesland shop opening forms part of Bayne’s broader Scottish expansion strategy. Established in Lochore, Fife in 1954, the business now operates more than 70 shops and continues to channel investment into new sites, innovative products and ongoing digital development to meet the changing needs of its customers.
