Londoners, prepare for the hottest collaboration of the summer. London’s first Southern Thai restaurant Plaza Khao Gaeng and London’s favourite chicken spot Coqfighter, have joined forces to create the Khua Kling Burger. This limited-edition chicken burger is packed with bold flavours and will be landing in sites across London for one month only from Wednesday 7th August until Tuesday 3rd September.
Bringing the heat to all Coqfighter sites and Deliveroo, the Khua Kling Burger (£12.50) comprises of deep-fried chicken hot-dipped in Hat Yai seasoning, topped with a very special ‘Khua Kling’ cheese whiz. This ‘whiz’ comprises a cheese sauce spiked with minced, wok-fried chicken infused with Southern Thai Spices: Phatthalung curry paste – thick with chilli, long pepper, and turmeric – lemongrass, galangal and green peppercorns. Savoury and complex, the whole thing is cut with Miang sauce, shredded cabbage, Thai herb and lime slaw, and served in a perfectly toasted sesame bun.
Luke Farrell, Chef and Creative Director of Plaza Khao Gaeng added “I already loved Coqfighter’s fried chicken – it’s awesome, and so when they approached us for a collaboration I thought, what if we could Hat Yai-ify it to make a ‘Southern Thai fried chicken’? So, we did, and we’ve adorned it will all those Southern Thai spices and herbs that we love to use at Plaza”
Troy and Tristan, Co Founders of Coqfighter said “We’ve always been huge fans of Plaza Khao Gaeng and Speedboat Bar. Luke Farrell is a chef that we’ve always wanted to collaborate with, particularly for his approach to food and restaurant making. Getting Plaza’s flavours to come across faithfully with fried chicken seemed like a challenge that really excited us, and we feel like we’ve achieved that.
Catch it while you can.
